Hailing from the punk-pop neighborhoods of Washington, D.C., Retisonic is comprised of ex-Bluetip guitarist Jason Farrell, bass player Jim Kimball, and drummer Joe Gorelick of Garden Variety fame.
Both Farrell and Gorelick had spent most of the 1990s touring the world with the likes of At the Drive-In, Burning Airlines, Tool, and the International Noise Conspiracy. Once road life reached a pondering calmness, Farrell and Gorelick realized it was time to move beyond their respective bands so they could musically refuel. Retisonic was born in 1997 and a new spiky new wave/punk sound was crafted. Silverthree, out of the neighboring state of Virginia, inked the band a deal in 2002; a tour with Jets to Brazil coincided with the release of Retisonic's debut, Lean Beat, the following spring. Return to Me appeared in spring 2004. ~ MacKenzie Wilson
