Emerging from the fertile indie rock community of Chapel Hill, NC, the ska-punk quintet Regatta 69 comprised vocalist/bassist Brian Hill, guitarist Lee Flythe, tenor saxophonist Whit Robertson, trombonist Andy Francis, and drummer Joby DeCoster.
Issuing a self-titled debut LP in 1992, Regatta 69 also built a wide fanbase by touring relentlessly, traveling the country in their vintage Greyhound bus; after 1995's Fat Free, they signed to the Moon Ska label to release their third effort, 1997's Prime Time. Skattered, Smothered, Covered was issued three years later. ~ Jason Ankeny
