Randy Glazer, aka Ran-Dee, was born and raised in the heart of Brooklyn, New York.
From day one, the borough known as Kings County set the standard for his goals. Through hard work and determination, he has chased and achieved many of his childhood dreams.
By the age of 15 he was already immersed in the music industry, promoting underground events such as the infamous Koncrete Jungle events. In the late 90’s he scored an internship at Armand Van Helden’s AV8 Records and later at one of New York’s most respected recording studios, formerly owned by Hip Hop legend Rakim, Power Play Studios. After some time climbing the ladder at Power Play, he took his new passion for recording and attended the Institute of Audio Research, in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village.
At the turn of the millennium, as a 20 year old young man who had a child on the way, he packed his bags and headed around the world to start a new life down under, in Australia.
In 2003 he started training with Sydney’s FBI Radio, prior to their official launch. After a year on air with FBI, he was asked to host a weekly Hip Hop show, Shoreshot, in the sun drenched studios of Bondi FM. For over 4 years, along with co-host Mere-D, he delivered one of Australia’s most loved radio shows, which saw a variety of high profile guests come through including DJ Premier, Z-trip, Digital Underground, Lyrics Born, Blackalicious, The Nextmen, Bliss & Eso, Eternia, DJ Sarah Love, Lyrical Commision, Katalyst and more. Eventually he moved into a full time position for SBS Radio, producing a variety of shows fortheir globally focused music show, Alchemy Radio. During his 2 years at Alchemy he interviewed Hip Hop legends including Afrika Baambaataa, RZA (Wu-Tang), Onyx, Redman, The Pharcyde, K’Naan, Masta Ace, Mad Skillz and many more.
In 2014, after taking a few years off, a return to the radio airwaves happened when Ran-Dee joined the team of one of Sydney’s longest running Hip Hop shows, Hardcore Classic. Together with Thomas Rock (Def Wish Cast) and DJ Raine Supreme (NTSC), Hardcore Classic delivered a mix of international and local Hip Hop every Friday night from 8-10pm on one of Sydney’s most respected radio stations, 2SER. During that era of HCC Radio they interviewed some of Hip Hop’s biggest names, including Run The Jewels, Souls of Mischief, Guilty Simpson, The Alkohliks, Apollo Brown, Rodney P, Hilltop Hoods, Delta and more.
Over the years Ran-Dee has been employed as the Host MC for a number of festivals and large scale music and corporate events, for high profile organizations including Red Bull, SBS, Fuzzy, Merrivale, Slingshot, Grindin’, Beatbroker, Obese Records, Simmerdown Productions, Casula Powerhouse, various local councils and many more. His ability to get the crowd hype, and always deliver a super professional service, is what has him often regarded as one of the finest Host MC’s in the country!

They have also, along with their friends at Grindin’, co-presented the most reputable producer battle in the southern hemisphere, The Australasian Beatmaker Invitational. His dedication & commitment to Hip Hop has also seen him get handpicked by the Hilltop Hoods as 1 of 5 judges nationally for their annual Hilltop Hoods Initiative, which awards an up and coming artist $10k+ worth of prizes to jumpstart their career. It has also seen him selected to speak at various music industry panels / Q&A’s for organisations including Music NSW, Sydney Uni, 4E Festival and more!
In 2012 Ran-Dee started a new path, when he joined the The Street University, a division of The Ted Noffs Foundation. Here he works with young people, using his experiences to help them navigate through the many complexities of life. Despite all of his music industry experience and achievements, he quickly realized that it was this new path which was most rewarding – using Hip Hop as an engagement tool to provide education, employment and entrepreneurial pathways, as well as numerous clinical outcomes, to strengthen communities.
Whether in the music business or community sector, Ran-Dee has always worked behind the scenes, helping those around him flourish. In 2020 he began to have the spotlight shine on his own creative endeavours. As a lyricist he has showcased ability whenever featured on releases, but it is his music production which has started to gain the attention of music lovers worldwide. Already working on collaborations with international and Australian Hip Hop heavyweights including Smif N Wessun (NYC), Ruste Juxx (NYC), A.G. (DITC), Nelson Dialect (ADL), Lee Monro (SYD), Dru Blast (SYD) and Mikoen (SYD), it seems like this is the time for Ran-Dee to finally emerge from behind the curtains.
What the future holds for Ran-Dee, we will wait and see. One thing is certain though... His journey is far from over!
