Ralf Buschmeyer’s chameleon abilities onthe guitar mean that you could see him on any number of stages playing anynumber of styles of music.
Born inOntario, Ralf was drawn to music by the Blues and R&B stylings of RayCharles, Eric Clapton and Booker T & the MGs. He picked up his first guitarat the age of 13 and shortly afterwards got his first live experience playinghard rock in Southern Ontario club bands.

Dedicated tobecoming a fully-rounded musician, Ralf took up studies at Hamilton’s MohawkCollege where he studied weekly for 3 years with Toronto jazz great LorneLofsky. During this time he served as musical director and composer for RogersCable tv show ‘The Metal Mike Show’.

Fate tookRalf touring the country with country acts for 3 years following college wherehe found a home in Calgary, Alberta. In 1998 Ralf became an alumni of the BanffCenter For The Arts Jazz Workshop. He is currently co-leader of theContemporary-jazz quartet Terrain, co-leader of the Bebop-jazz ensemble ManicThematic Trio, faculty for Mount Royal College’s Jazz Diploma Program and apopular choice as free-lance guitarist for live engagements, recordings and asa composer-for-hire.

In 2004 Ralfwon the TD Canada Trust Jazz Festival Writers Commision Award and hiscollaborative effort with Richie Pollack ‘Stew’ earned them a WCMA nomination.

RalfBuschmeyer's 'EST 1968' and 'Renewal’ Cds were released in 2006 and 2008respectively. He has since been reviewed in Guitar Player Magazine, BluesReview Magazine and represented Alberta at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Hemaintains a busy playing/teaching schedule and his latest CD ‘Jazzspeak’(winner of the 2012 Hamilton Music awards ‘Instrumental Recording of the Yearand nominee for WCMA Best Jazz Recording 2012) featuring guests from NewYork(John Riley), Toronto(Kevin Breit & Folkalarm), Vancouver(Bill Coon,Jodi Proznick & Jesse Cahill) and Winnipeg(Michelle Gregoire) was releasedearly 2012.

Ralf ismarried to noted singer/song-writer/pianist Corinne Plomish and a proud fatherof 2 children and 3 dogs.
