Rage of South: Band thrash – crossover – nu metal formed by 4 elements (Tano – Leo – Salas – Smok), born in 2006, from the estreme south
of Italy … Sicily! Their sound comes from a giddy mix of power
and melody, a union between the devastating disaster and the
stillness after the tempest. Like flashes, etnic foreshortening
sound of their country appears. Their sound has evolved in these
years thanks to a hard work like cover band! In fact from 2000 under
the name of R.O.M (read only memory), it features along the streets
the songs of excellent groups like System of a down – Korn –
Limp bizkit – Deftones – Slipknot – Machine head – the last one marks
them in a significant way, influencing their individual style.
Their texts, that fit the metal sound very well, go across the
social reality they feel deeply.
The group try to discuss about the disturbing problems of the
society, denouncing the corruption. The band’s place of origin,
Sicily, has often been pictured allegorically by three monkeys:
the first, pictured with the hands on its ears, means the refusal
to admit what it heard; the second, with the hands on its eyes,
indicates the refusal to admit what it saw; the third, with the
hands on its mouth, indicates the refusal to denounce what has
been seen or heard. This is the symbol of the conspiracy of silence.
So the band decides sto represent itself with a face of a monkey which
sees, hears and speaks. This young band seems to have all the right
cards to compete with the representatives of this musical genre.
With their scratching and roaring rithms they convey an incredibile
power to whom listen to them.
From these first tracks the four components of the group show a high
skill in composing, letting their special style and sound come up.
