Songwriter and vocalist Rachel Koster, has a writing ability that has been compared in the music industry to that of Carole King.
She has penned numbers with and for musicians including Chris Haigh, Steve Romig, Stuart Fraser (Noiseworks), Gary Pinto(CDB), Luke Austen, Kylie Moss, Tarni (Aust Idol), Milly Moodie (Aust Idol),rapper RVL8, Nashville’s Karin Papperelli, Stephen Cummings, blues artist Lil’Fi and others, plus material for musicals, ad campaigns and children. A prolific collaborator and writer for other artists.

The follow upto her independently released pop single December, was the heartfelt 2007 debut solo album Deciduous. Produced in part by ARIA award winningengineer, Robin Mai (John Butler Trio ‘Sunrise Over Sea’) and mixed by ChrisDickie (Wet Wet Wet/The Eurythmics), the LP had it's birth at Woodstockstudios, Melbourne, with players from the Renee Geyer Band, plus Stuart Fraser(Noiseworks), Jak Housden (The Badloves/Whitlams), and significant others onboard. This chilled jazz album wassummed up as ‘a smooth and cosy offering, canvassing the seasons of the heart’.

Creating is where she sits best. With a simmering penchant for ‘message songs’ of a current sound and stance, Rachel’s solo work presents an acoustic flavoured earthy pop vibe with a slice of 80sinfluence. Her newest offerings have been in recent collaboration with Bruce Haymes (Professor Ratbaggy), The Leigh Brothers (Pseudo Echo) and her musical sibling Luke, resulting in a fresh musical aroma, the first of these being the quirky track The Mess, which romped it up the Triple J Unearthed pop charts.
