Psychatrone is a musical experimenter from the wilds of North-East Pennsylvania....
who now has been concentrating on blogging about others music (and raising his kids). He has released many albums of music that always has a base in electronic experimentation but adds hints of psychedelic and indie rock and the slightest bit of the "dreaded" prog rock....just the slightest,'though!
CD Baby has copies of his albums and also a downloadable sampler of his sounds too. The first CD is "Keep On Psychedelic Mind!" and it is a trippy set of pieces influenced by Acid Mother ,Hawkwind, CAN, Amon Duul ,Cromagnon,,etc.,.....the next one is "Baron Von Rhonedakk" where he is joined on half the album by Cotton Casino (from the Acid Mothers) and features his take on "Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun", "Disturbs The Air" is what seems to be his most popular title(as far as sales are concerned, and reviews too...)and it is a dark, meditative album dealing with the inner mind(featuring a cover of "Could You Travel In The Dark Alone", by Gandalf). His last CD was "American Primitive Electronics" which is a good , remastered compilation of tracks from his pre-"Keep On Psych..." releases(all of less than 50 issued on CD-R and/or cassette)....all remastered with a handful of newly found and mixed tracks for added value ,bookended by his last two recorded songs....including a cover of "I'm Set Free" by the V.U. Along the way a few LPs were released too....one a lathe-cut edition of 30(Sub-Underground Tapes) which is included on the "American Primitive..." CD,and the other was a limited LP on the QBICO label featuring two side-long cuts (there may be copies of this still around....?).
There are plans for new recordings....but time is at a premium here, and only time will tell when and if those plans come to fruition.....
