PINKROOM is a Polish progressive rock band formed long before but it took its recent shape two years ago.
The story began much earlier when Mariusz Boniecki and Marcin Kledzik met several of years after break-up of high school band EMPTY ROOM – the first band they played in. Meanwhile Marcin drummed and gained experience with a metal rock band called ISLAND. The musicians along with Tomek Sanigórski (the guitarist) and Daniel Karwicki (the bassist) decided to go for art rock, a bit forgotten in Poland.

After few changes of members and searching for its own identity the band's shape was settled (Mariusz Boniecki – the guitarist/singer, Marcin Kledzik – the drummer, Kacper Ostrowski – the bassist). Work on the new material began. The band from the very beginning decided to suspend any live performance until release of their first album. Kacper departed the band in 2008 and since then PINKROOM is a duet. Work on the album gathered speed after Mariusz' decision on quitting his job in order to dedicate entirely to music.

In the end of 2008 the band entered a friend's recording studio. Special attention was paid to a high quality recording and a sound comparable to West-European and American records. Accidentally met Maciej Feddek and his recently opened JET Studio in Nowy Dwór Bydgoszcz appeared a lucky hit. The band enjoyed the meeting of minds as well as modern attitude towards sound recording and worked on the album until the half of 2009.

Apart from Kacper Ostrowski (the bassist) also Mikołaj Zieliński (vocal in song No 1) and Anna Szczygieł (the cello) were invited to cooperate. The album was released by an independent record label Creative Farm Production – the production group of Maciej Feddek and Mariusz Boniecki. In 2010-2011 band played many concert in Poland. In year 2012 band composed and recorded new songs to second album.[/1_2_last]

"'It's honesty that matters in our production, we try to avoid mathematical attitude towards music. The main parts of spontaneously composed piece '2AM' originate from 30 minute long accidentally recorded improvisation. Some of the songs, apparently compact structured, include open parts being a starting point for an improvisation and creating the mood in the live performance.

We don't want to limit our style therefore in our music one can hear heavy parts as well as delicate melodies and psychodelic trance. We try to withdraw sounds from the pure pleasure of creating and compose a musical integrity not necessarily limited to one musical style."
