PinHed hit the Houston metal scene in late 2002.
Originally a two piece metal band formed in Rosenberg T.X founder Luis Matos had envisioned music that stayed true to the origins of metal but would tap into the darker and more aggressive side of the genre. After finding and rehearsing with drummer Joaquin Garcia the band was officially formed. Shortly after the band was opening for major touring acts like Super Joint Ritual , Devil Driver and Fear Factory to name a few . Going through several musicians through the years. The band had a long list of shows lined up with numerous touring acts that never seemed to get short. Headling Houston Metal Fest and playing Texas Metal Fest the bands fan base grew exponentially. Two years after forming the band and opening for national touring acts around Texas the band was soon on a national tour with legendary Mexican death metal band Brujeria, (Road Runner Records) the brutal grind core/death metal band Cephalic Carnage (Relapse Records).Proving that Shear Determination and drive would be rewarded. Being an unsigned act the band still managed to land several other tours with artists MushroomHead (MegaFoce Records), Asesino (Odio Records) Divine Heresy (Century Media Records) Possessed, Fear Factory and Sadistic Intent without Labels or management agency’s. The band then set out to record their debut album The End of Life. Tapping into several elements from thrash , Black , And Death metal there sound stands alone . Wearing masks that depict a different tale and concept for each band member . Wearing armor and gauntlets of different designs the band has created an image that portrays the darkness of the music. PinHed has become one of Houston’s most recognized bands and continues to climb the ranks of metal artists
