Michael Greene, a.k.a. Persia Grai, is a Rapper, Singer – Songwriter born in Detroit, Michigan.
Persia, known to friends and loyal fans as “Peige” (pronounced peege) was raised on the east side of Detroit & Metro Detroit by his mother Tracy and father Gary. Persia attended schools in Detroit & Warren before ultimately graduating from Lake Shore High School in St Clair Shores.

Persia started writing music in 4th grade, emulating the styles of his favorite artists at the time. Continually working on writing, it wasn’t until he was 14 that he actually began recording vocals. Persia soon found himself under a small independent label with a few other rappers and a producer with whom he’d grown close. His life changed dramatically when his producer along with other close friends was killed in a car accident by a drunk driver in 2009.

The deaths were life changing for Persia who pulls dedication, life-long motivation and inspiration from the friends he lost who shared his dreams with him. In memory of those friends, Persia and his fellow label mates put together a collaborative Rest In Peace CD which they distributed locally. They group then sold a few hundred tickets, put on a benefit concert and donated the money to the families of the victims of the crash.

Within a year, the label disbanded and everyone chose their own path to pursue the Dream. Even after the mutual decision to split up and disband the label, Persia’s passion and motivation continued to grow. He built his own home studio and began funding his own projects. In 2012, Persia enjoyed a little sample taste of success. Through a series of polls and contests, his was music played on Detroit radio station Hot 107.5 on multiple occasions by DJ BJ 3525. Shortly after, Persia was chosen to be the opening act for “Summer Jamz 15”; a concert headlined by Big Sean, Travis Porter & Diggy Simmons.

Pick any day in the future and you will find Persia continuing to Catch the Dream!
