An eclectic composer, Pedro Santos Sequeira uses different styles and techniques to develop a personal contemporary musical language, inspired mainly by the minimalist genre.
Currently a composer, performer and teacher, he demonstrated his interest in music since a young age, beginning his piano lessons at the age of 10. He was then admitted at the Music School of the National Conservatory, in Lisbon, and started to attend the Piano Course classes.

He first studied with Maria Filomena Campos, and later with Carla Seixas, two known Portuguese pianists. Still during the initial phase of his studies, and already exhibiting an eclectic musical taste, he composed and performed his first piano works, within the minimalist genre. In a subsequent phase, he studied Analysis and Composition with Carlos Gomes, achieving the highest possible score in the last year of the discipline, with the work "Sistemas Fragmentários", composed for flute, oboe, clarinet and string quartet, and fully conceived using avant-garde techniques.

After concluding the Piano Course, he was invited to teach piano, music theory, chamber music and composition at a private music school. There, he has also participated in the organization of workshops on composition/song writing, recitals and other events. In addition, he has often been invited to join several liturgical choirs, either as pianist/organist, chorus singer (tenor/baritone), or choir conductor.

His activity as a composer has been consistent, encompassing works for solo instrument — mostly, for piano — and for ensembles. Some of his pieces have been presented on several occasions. By combining diverse styles and techniques, and being influenced by different composers from various periods, he has sought to develop his own contemporary musical language, inspired mainly by the minimalist genre.

Concurrently, his taste for large ensembles and original soundtracks encouraged him to autonomously deepen his knowledge regarding instrumentation and orchestration, which has also influenced his musical production. Likewise, his interest in the visual and digital arts, as well as in the exact sciences — an area in which he also possesses advanced studies —, has positively influenced his artistic development, namely with respect to the possibility of interconnecting music and science to digital mediums of visual expression.

In addition, the predilection for the theme of Nature has led him to incorporate a naturalistic touch in some of his works. This trend is particularly evident in "Le Vol Des Hirondelles" and "Le Vent Se Lève Aux Champs de Blé", both written for solo piano. Awarded in November 2018, within "The Minimal Piano Series Vol. 2" Competition, "Le Vol Des Hirondelles" was one of the tracks selected to feature in the "The Minimal Piano Series Vol. 2" compilation album by Blue Spiral Records. In January 2020, "Le Vent Se Lève Aux Champs de Blé" won the 3rd prize in the "Minimalist Style Category" of the "10th Fidelio Composition Contest For Piano Solo", and will be a feature track in the upcoming album "Images Bucoliques Vol. I: du Printemps à l'Été", to be released later in 2020, by Blue Spiral Records.
