Some of his influences are Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Gordon Lightfoot, Jimmy Buffet, and Neil Diamond.

Paul released the LifeBlood album in Jan 2012. The songs on Life Blood are written from my heart about stories of love, romance and inspiration. All the tracks on Life Blood were recorded in Paul's home studio, except for The Truck Driving Song, which was recorded in a commercial studio. Paul's main instrument is guitar and he sang the lead vocals and harmonies on Life Blood. Paul arranged and produced all the songs, with some contribution from other musicians and local artists.
