Born December 10th, 1964 in Montevideo (Uruguay), Javier "Pato" Muñoz studied guitar, electric bass, harmony, composition and arrangements in his native town, and later acoustic bass at Padre Antonio Soler's Conservatoire in San Lorenzo del Escorial (Madrid).
A very versatile bassist, he started his professional career in 1980, recording and touring with artists from different styles, highlighting Alberto Wolf, Jose Carbajal "El Sabalero", Rubén Dantas, Andreas Prittwitz, Gema y Pavel, Eliseo Parra, María del Mar Vivó, Cubop, Los Losadas, Diego "El Cigala", La Barbería del Sur, Big Band del Taller de Músicos de Madrid, Centro Habana Band, Rasha, Nono García, Hugo Naranja Toscano, Niña Pastori o Patxi Pascual. Likewise he frequently works supporting commercial singers as Raphael, Paloma San Basilio, Alberto Cortez, Camilo Sesto, Roque Narvaja, Inma Serrano, María Vidal, Bertín Osborne, Andy&Lucas o Azúcar Moreno. He also collaborated in Spanish TV shows as 7º de Caballería, Los Conciertos de Radio 3, Música Sí and Los Premios Amigo.

Having a huge experience as a teacher, he has given classes in different institutions, as well as in private. He published lessons and original patterns in Guitbass magazine.
