Formerly the frontman for the pioneering indie electronics act Seefeel, Mark Clifford returned to a (nominally) band environment in 1999 with the Sneakster project.
A collaboration with vocalist Sophie Hinkley, Sneakster began when the pair met at London's Milk Bar and started writing music together. Bella Union released the Splinters EP in 1999, and Sneakster's debut album, Pseudo-Nouveau, followed later that summer. The American release, issued one year later, also included a bonus EP of remixes by Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins. ~ John Bush
