Taking a cue from bands like the Killers and Passion Pit, Papa, the Los Angeles-based duo consisting of drummer/vocalist Darren Weiss (ex-Girls) and bassist/songwriter Daniel Presant, aim for the nosebleed seats with stadium-ready indie rock anthems that pair propulsive electro-pop with open-road, Springsteen-induced Americana.
The band debuted in 2011 with the EP A Good Woman Is Hard to Find, which led to tour dates with bands like Ra Ra Riot and Grouplove, and eventually a record deal with Island/Republic, which would go on to issue the band's debut long-player, 2013's Tender Madness. ~ James Christopher Monger
