Born in Mississippi, Michael J. Sykes a.k.a. "M.I.A.M.I. (Money Is'nt A Major Issue) Mike" has had a meteoric rise to become President and CEO of Palm Tree Entertainment (P.T.E.). Palm Tree Entertainment, a well-known independent entertainment company in the country today, has become a household name in the south.

In 2000, Michael started the independent label, and in 2007 he signed his first artist Yung Keyz from Phoenix, AZ. As an influential executive, Michael oversees a number of business initiatives and provides support for artist promotions and strategic ventures for a collection of Palm Tree Entertainment brands. In addition to his role as CEO of his independent label, He is the President of Soulja Boy's Label S.O.D.M.G.(Stacks On Deck Money Gang),he is a nationwide concert promoter (Palm Tree Promotions), an Executive Producer, Booking Agent (Palm Tree Booking), Motivational Speaker, Entertainment Manager (Palm Tree Management) and Deejay. He is also business partners with Chris Lighty (CEO of Violator Management),De'Shea Townsend (Pittsburgh Steelers), DeAndre "Soulja Boy Tellem" Way, and other superstar artists in the entertainment world today.

In 2004 Michael "MIAMI Mike" Sykes started Palm Tree Booking and has successfully booked for major artists such as 50 Cent and G Unit, Young Jeezy, T.I., Soulja Boy, Arab, Jbar, Gucci Mane, L.L. Cool J., New Edition, Bobby Brown, Snoop Dogg, R. Kelly, Trey Songz, Pleasure P., Twista, Juvenile, Yo-Gotti, 8-Ball & MJG, Frankie Beverly & Maze, and many others. He's was also a key figure in securing a major record deal for Soulja Boy Tell'Em. Prior to his signing, MIAMI Mike assisted Soulja Boy Tell'Em in becoming one of the only artist in the country to get $4,000-$8,000 a show without being signed to a major label. Palm Tree Booking booked Soulja Boy Tellem's first one hundred shows and still books for mega-star to date.

Michael has been instrumental in the success of many up and coming artists, entertainers, and comedians. Not only has MIAMI Mike put his phenomenal talents and drive toward his work in the entertainment industry, in 2005 with De'Shea Townsend (Pittsburgh Steelers) he started the Palm Tree Foundation, which is sponsored by Budweiser and De'Shea Townsend. This foundation helps low-income families, homeless men and women, and victims of abuse. The Palm Tree Foundation hosts free concerts and car shows in his hometown of Batesville, MS each year. Michael also sponsors a Little League Baseball Team called "Team Palm Tree/S.O.D. in his childhood neighborhood of Patton Lane Park in Batesville, Mississippi. He was awarded a Key-To-The-City in 2008 & an Southern Coalition Award named after him in 2010 for his giving back to the community and charity-work. He is currently written a book about his life story and struggles before his success. Through hard work, determination, and an enthusiasm for life, Michael has inspired many people in the music industry and people that come from the hoods with hard lives and not so great backgrounds. His father the late James Lee Sykes, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.,AL Haymond ,Sean Combs, Sean Carter, Bob Johnson,Percy Miller, Sam Walton, Donald Trump, and the novels of John Grisham serve as his inspiration.
