Kim Lavette Atwater is the consummate Public Relations (PR) professional. A practitioner that has provided professional services to various entities within various industries for over 14 years, Ms. Atwater obtained her BA degree from Georgia State University with a major concentration in Public Relations and a minor concentration in Criminal Justice. In addition to these undergraduate achievements, she possesses a certification in Paralegal Studies from the University of Georgia’s Center for Legal Studies and 3 area certifications from Capstone’s Mortgage Broker’s Certification Program. An Atlanta native, she began her career during college working with NFS Communications on the celebrity opening of Gladys and Ron’s Chicken and Waffles Restaurant which garnered attendance from both local and national celebrities inclusive of Gladys Knight, Ginuwine, and the late great Aaliyah, just to name a few. In addition to this project, she also worked simultaneously with Creative Eventions/NFS on the “Living the Dream Excursion” which received a Phoenix award for Event Planning and Public Relations and propagated participation from such Civil Rights legends as Dick Gregory, Rosa Parks’ attorney Fred Gray, Harvard Graduate and Entrepreneur Desi Bellamy. Hosts for this event included Former Channel 46 and current 11 Alive anchor Karen Greer. After serving as PR professional and panelist for the Collegiate Vote Debate during the early advocacy for the College Freak-Nik Festivities and working on various other projects, Kim graduated from Georgia State and became Public Relations Specialist for the Event Planning Company of the President of the 100 Black Women of Atlanta Yvonne Wilkes nomenclature VonCreations. During her tenure at VonCreations she was responsible for Public Relations for the entire company and worked with clients like the NAACP, SBA, City of Atlanta, Minority Enterprise Development Council, CBM, just to name a few. She furthered refinement of her PR skills by providing Media Relations, Crisis Management, Promotions & Booking, Media Training, Research & Analysis, Marketing and Management. Ms. Atwater then embarked upon further development of her legal and project management education by taking a position with consulting firms The Parson Group and Boyken International. As a practitioner for The Parson Group, she completed initial assessments and implementations which involved her writing the training manual for a major credit card company generating letters of specific recognition from that client and others as well. Also, developing training programs and assessment tools as well as development of policies and procedures for a metro area hospital. Boyken International Inc. was the platform where Ms. Atwater transferred legal education into experience by aiding in developing the Legal/Expert Witness Services utilized by this firm today. She developed departmental structures, inclusive of assessing areas of need, creating job structures and even writing job descriptions, creating policies and procedures, providing project planning & delivery, team management, research & analysis, contract analysis, contract development, claim analysis, database development & other tracking systems, client relations, graphics development etc. Kim has worked in the following industries, Entertainment, Biocontainment Research, Credit Card, Healthcare, Accounting & Finance, Restaurant, Non-Profit, Hospitality, and Government. After assisting the development and rise of these and many others, as well as amassing an eclectic resume, she has started her own company entity, One Entertainment ELSS, LLC. One Entertainment ELSS, LLC provides an array of services inclusive of the following: Entity Management, Public Relations, Marketing, Media Relations,Crisis Management, Promotions & Booking, Project Planning &Delivery, Contract-Review-Compliance-Structure, Media Training, Client Relations, and Research & Analysis as well as Promotional Event Services.
