Members of the New Olduvai Quartet have played with many well known artists over the years including Cecil Taylor, Ronald Shannon Jackson, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, Odean Pope, Marshall Allen, Tyrone Hill, Bill Frisell, Charles Brackeen, Karl Berger, and many others.
While usually identified as free improvisation the actual stylistic content of any performance can and usually does include many different kinds of music including jazz, funk, world music, abstract electronics, poetry, psychedelic rock, and more. Also they have been collaborating over the years with projection art, video, and dance.
