His versatility ranges from making beats, producing and mastering. In an effort to keep his originality Obie started his own label, StiLafin’, in 2001. Obie's beats tend to be more drum heavy but that is completely intentional. As you're listening to his music you'll hear significant messages throughout and the end goal is to have you lost in the lyrics. Though his music is categorized as "rap," Obie finds inspiration in many other genres. He originally took inspiration from other local producers such as Timbaland and Pharrell, and credits the club scene for his up tempo style. His personal playlist includes artists such as Cam'ron, Gabriel & Dresden, Big Sean, and City Sleeps.

Coming from a musically inclined family in Nigeria, Obie knew early on music was his passion. His dad gave him his first set of drums at age 4 and he hasn't looked back since. Before starting his own label, Obie performed in numerous bands throughout his teens
