Our Hungarian avant-garde electro project has two members: Peter Lipovics (music composer, sound designer, mixing, mastering) Gabor Szabo aka S.G.Z (lyrics, speech-vocals, audio-visuals).
Our cooperation goes back to 1998, when we formed our first group Iceflowers. Back then it was only a creative gathering opposite Nostromo 7, but it was a very important period for us. At that time we just got the first contact to a mystical world that formed our artless sounds and our uncoloured words. After four years we split up and we started to work with others, other bands in separate ways. And then in 2004 Nostromo 7 was founded with singer Josef Stapel and we created our first demo songs.
When Josef left the band in 2006, we started to recreate our musical conception with new ideas and working style starting from 2007. From these songs we made our first demonstration material titled THE PORTAL EP in 2008 designed by Gabor Szabo. In this release we used our old ideas as well as our new born thoughts, musical compositions which were shaped into five tracks. Our demo record was popular among underground music lovers mostly in foreign countries. In 2009 we got a chance to take part in three compilation albums in Germany. (Electro Arc Vol 3, Dark Spy Magazine Vol 21, Synthetics Magazine Vol 88) Our tracks have also been aired at some internet radio stations.
At the begining of 2010 we celebrated the new year with a live show in Budapest, then we started to record the band's debut album CINEMIND which contained twelve of our most favourite songs in our career. The album was released on 15 July 2010. A few thoughts about the record:
“From the beginning our music is based on the atmosphere of film music combined with deep electronic sounds. To all these are attached the speech-vocal in a storytelling way or the vocal with lots of experimental music. As time passed by our musical world got more colourful and richer. After we were introduced in German alternative magazines and internet radios with success, our fans and people from the music industry urged us to keep our authentic sounding to make an album on our own without any compromise. In our debut album CINEMIND we will continue this road to create electronic sounds almost like film music taking it to our farthest frontiers. Visions won't be missed this time either, there will be fast cuttings but also logical musical changes in these twelve songs of the cd.
Now with more experimentation, dynamics and with collaborators on board. In this record we will invite you "to see" or to listen our fifty minutes of inner movie with remixed older releases and with brand new tracks.”
At the end of 2010 for the anniversary of Longing (our first ever track) we made a Free Release of the song, called LONGING MAXI-SINGLE. It contained Longing and Longing 2 (Devil Dance) taken from our debut album CINEMIND and Longing (So Strange Mix) mixed by S.G.Z. It can be downloaded free from our website or bandcamp site. The cover design was made by Josef Stapel just like in the case of CINEMIND. We re-released our first demonstration ep “THE PORTAL EP” on 28 February 2011. This time it was a free digital download for everyone from our Bandcamp and SoundCloud site.
In April 2011 we started to work on our new mix album called NOSTROPHIL REMIXES which is due to release in September-October. This will contain remixes from songs of the CINEMIND album mixed by foreign and home artists or bands. The album will be released by Electro Arc Germany and designed by Josef Stapel.
