She discovered her passion for music young, moving to Rome at age 18 to study at the University Institute of Motor Sciences and also taking classes in dance and performance. Before branching out into music, Serra acted and did choreography for several nationally touring theatrical productions. It was her 2010 debut, No Self Control, however, that brought her into the world of pop music, selling extremely well and sticking around the Italian charts for weeks. Serra toured Italy for most of the summer of 2010 before preparing for international tours in support of the album.
