Nik Howlett is an Atlanta, GA based composer, singer, songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist, engineer, and performer.
His influences are eclectic and span early swing and jazz to modern alternative rock. His only formal training is piano lessons from ages 10 - 12 and mentoring on the bass during two Julliard summer programs with Ben Wolfe from Julliard on jazz bass and jazz improvisation.

Nik plays several instruments including: guitar, bass (electric & stand up), drums, clarinet, saxophone (alto, tenor, and baritone), marimba, tambourine, sitar, tabla, cowbell, piano, synthesizer, and the triangle, etc. Nik has been writing and recording his own music as an artist and on other side projects with a variety of other artists and musicians. Currently, Nik’s continued focus is writing and performing his own original music as a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist and also singing, playing guitar and drumming with a band called The Caterpillars (also on reverbnation), while still balancing college at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA.
