Nicole Remonia Marie Thorpe (born May 30, 1993) known professionally as Nicky Solo Shotz is an American rapper, singer, model, contractor, producer and businesswomen.
Born on the west side of Chicago, Illinois, basketball was her first love and she had dreams of playing professionally but Thorpe’s life took another direction when she started rapping. As a child listening to music in the back of her parents car she would remember songs after only hearing them a couple times. She later began pursuing a musical career by the age of twelve Thorpe was producing songs using whatever devices were available: recording music from toy microphones, phones and a camcorder. She learned to sing reciting her favorite singer Usher’s music. She taught herself to write songs studying the lyrics written in the album of his CD cases.

While in high school Thorpe began selling drugs and developed a network of street associates involved in the black market with connections to a multitude of illegal substances. At the age of 16 She met another Chicago rapper Melo Tha Truth who was the founder of the group Triangle Get Money Gang and she joined as the youngest member of the music group. Melo introduced her to Mike of Streetwise Records who owned a recording studio on the south side of Chicago. Mike provided her with instrumentals and invited her to record at the studio. However, Thorpe was not a fan of the sound and decided to start her own record label Billion Dollar Kidd Entertainment, which allowed her full creative control of her own music and career.

In her mothers basement Thorpe began setting up a recording studio, signing her school and neighborhood associates. She released music online and created homemade music videos. Around that time she also took an attempt at a modeling and acting career networking with amateur photographers and producers through the internet. Booking shows and managing artist became a struggle for Thorpe due to the lack of determination and ambition of the other musicians. This resulted in her losing interest in music and returning to the streets. At the age of 17 she was arrested for the first time and charged with felony armed robbery. Her judge set bond at $150,000 and her mother a Chicago Police Officer paid $15,000 for her release. Returning home Thorpe rushed to make up lost time in school barely graduating from high school and missing her prom. After graduation she went straight to college to major in Business Finance.

While in college Thorpe returned to creating music and was introduce to a music producer name Don Julio through a neighborhood friend. This resulted in her stepping out of her mothers basement and into a professional recording studio for the first time. During her first year in college she begin volunteering in her community starting a political career working within the 7th Congressional District of Chicago. Working for Congressman Danny K. Davis office. Soon her services within the entity were recognized and she obtained payment for future working with other political campaigns around the city. Thorpe’s music producer Don Julio also connected her to many other artist such as Rap artist Congo and Persona who would later feature her in multiple music videos. She also developed skills working for these artist behind scenes working as a film producer, director and video editor. However, years later Don Julio decided to change careers and stop producing music.

In 2013 Thorpe’s life change without warning when her mother suddenly passed away due to a blood infection. With the news of her death she dropped out of college and began to lose her motivation. Her family inherited money but the pain of her death created problems within the household resulting in her leaving home and returning to the street life. Homeless she began to using harder drugs. At the age of 21 Thorpe was shot in 3 times, twice in the arm and once in the neck. The next day after being rushed to the hospital she was told by the hospital’s nurses that they could not take the bullet out of her neck. Knowing she would be living it for the rest of her life she signed herself out of the hospital and returned to the streets.

Shortly after Thorpe’s release from the hospital she was arrested again and due to a violation of probation denied bond. While in county jail her residence was broken into and her recording studio was stolen from home. After sitting incarcerated for months fighting her case she was told by her lawyer that her case carried 6 to 8 years in prison. She was told to take a plea deal. While in prison Thorpe used her time to attend school, write music and draw. After analyzing her past mistakes she made the decision to abandon her dreams of owning a record label and start a solo music career.

In 2015, After serving two and a half years she was released and given parole. With no where to go Thorpe was forced to parole to a halfway home on the west side of Chicago. Months after returning home from prison she was faced with the news that her father had passed away. Soon after his passing she received the news that there was another robbery at her mothers home and her brother was shot. She rushed home leaving the halfway house to stay with her siblings for the first time in years. Days after moving into the home she discovered that her little brother and sister were facing the possibility of losing they’re mothers home. The three of them were forced to sell the house going separate ways, again she was homeless.

While struggling financially moving from different homes, Thorpe met a new music producer Versus Vllad. This was the start of her new solo career. Versus being involved in multiple businesses as well inspired her to take her career more seriously. Introducing her to millionaire investors inviting her to sit in meetings where she could learn about finance and real estate. Finally, in the beginning of the year 2018, Thorpe returned to college but with new goals. She decided to learn carpentry and by her 25th birthday that same year was a certified contractor. Currently Thorpe is working on multiple projects including building a website, releasing new music and photo shoots.
