Songwriter, producer, and vocalist Natasha Kmeto synthesizes downtempo electronica, dance-pop, and contemporary R&B with alluring and emotive material that appeals to bedroom and dancefloor listening.
A versatile singer, she could front a jazz trio and make freestyle records with equal ease. Kmeto released her earliest work -- including the albums 9 (2009) and Expressor (2010) -- on her own. After she linked with the Dropping Gems label, located in her adopted hometown of Portland, Oregon, she recorded The Ache (2012) and Crisis (2013). After touring with TV on the Radio, she released an album titled Inevitable (2015) that featured a collaboration with that band's Tunde Adebimpe. An active performer, she has also appeared at festivals such as Coachella, Bumbershoot, Decibel, and SXSW, as well as club nights like Low End Theory (Los Angeles and San Francisco). ~ Andy Kellman
