On July 22, it was announced that Capitol Music Group and Insurgency Music had joined forces to reignite the iconic Priority Records label. Founded in Los Angeles in 1985, the imprint released some of the most iconic rap records in history, including N.W.A.'s 'Straight Outta Compton,' Jay-Z's 'Reasonable Doubt,' and numerous hits from Master P and Snoop Dogg. One of the earliest and most successful independent labels, Priority hit the streets and used underground marketing techniques in lieu of the traditional radio route.
