Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Christian alt-rock band My Epic was formed in 2004.
Following the break-up of their former band Shaddai, members Aaron Stone, Jesse Stone, and Matt Doran decided to regroup as a trio, eventually releasing an independent EP This Is Rescue in 2006. After signing with Dreamt Records, the band recorded their debut LP, I Am Undone, in 2008 followed by 2010's Yet. Around this time, a variety of personnel shifts took place with the addition of Jeremiah Austin and the departure of original singer/drummer Jesse Stone. Aaron Stone took over on lead vocals, though Jesse would later return to replace Matt Doran on drums. An acoustic EP called Broken Voice appeared in 2011 and the band added new member Tanner Morita to the ever-shifting lineup, further developing their post-hardcore indie sound. In 2013, My Epic were picked up by Facedown Records, who issued the band's third LP Behold later that year. The album became the band's most successful effort to date, placing highly on the Christian and Heatseeker charts. Building on their newfound success, they returned in 2016 with Viscera EP. ~ Timothy Monger
