Moon Zero is the solo ambient project of Tim Garratt, a London-based experimental musician and engineer.
Garratt creates his music in unconventional settings such as churches, building clouds of dark, mournful sound from a mountain of tape loops, effects, and dilapidated musical equipment. His compositions are enveloping and somewhat abrasive, and he allows them to develop rhythmic structures without beats or percussion. After debuting the project with appearances on compilations released by Futuresequence starting in 2012, the label issued Moon Zero's debut EP, Tombs, in 2013, along with a remix EP. Tombs was re-released in 2014 by German label Denovali, which also issued its follow-up, Loss. Both vinyl EPs were combined as a CD release, which included four tracks from Tombs Remixes. Moon Zero's self-titled full-length debut appeared on the label in 2015. ~ Paul Simpson
