Originally comprised of vocalist Jonathan Rosario, Lead Guitarist Matt Rooney, and Drummer Ray Slavik, Montauk Skyline originally under the name Scars On Sunrise set out to write new music both heavy and soothing.
Upon releasing "Tomorrow", an acoustic song, to youtube, the three decided they wanted to create a fuller and heavier sound to their music. John McGrath, a local surfer, met Jon Rosario on the waves and promptly became the bassist of the group. Jimm Cannatella was originally going to record the groups first demo recordings and actually became the rhythm guitarist instead. The 5 men ranging from 18 years old to 24, embarked from there unified under Montauk Skyline to play shows all over Long Island at venues like The Emporium and the Vibe Lounge. After a 5 month run with the band, personal complications resulted in the departure of bass player John McGrath. Soon after long time friend Kurt Eckman was brought in to fill the roll and continue on as the permanent bassist. The 5 are currently recording a 5-6 song EP with Proline studios that is planned to released before April of 2013.
