The Washington, D.C.-based Mail Order Bride (MOB) was first formed in the summer of 1995 and can be compared to such groove-heavy, genre-busting acts as Rage Against the Machine and Primus (mixing post-punk, R&B, melodic vocals, and spoken word into an original blend).
Although the core of their sound is rock, Mail Order Bride enjoys keeping their audience on its toes by mixing in instruments not usually associated with rock, such as cello. Thanks to steady gigging, MOB has turned into a local live attraction and the band's debut album, Revolt of the Philistine, came out in 2001. ~ Greg Prato
