• Won民星唱翻天 (Min Xing Chang Fan Tian) ‘I want to sing to the stars’ a Chinese singing competition live on Chinese TV with a viewing audience of 70 million people that the UK press called The Chinese X Factor.
• Mary-Jess studied Music and Mandarin Chinese at Sheffield University and Nanjing University.
• Signed with Decca Records and released her debut album ‘Shine’ on the 8th of August 2011. Shine has filmic textures and a contemporary flare; Mary-Jess recorded the string section from The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Abbey Road and worked with some of China’s most accomplished musicians in Beijing to add a touch of the orient. Seven out of the 12 tracks were written by Mary-Jess.

• Mary-Jess was Russell Watson’s special guest on his 23 date UK tour.
• Performed in Trafalgar Square for Chinese New Year.
• Sang the Downton Abbey theme tune ‘Did I Make the Most of Loving You?’ with lyrics by the legendary Don Black.
• May-Jess has been featured on many albums released in the UK and abroad. The Downton Abbey theme was on the ‘Now that’s what I call Classical’ album, her second single ‘Glorious’ was included on the Rugby World Cup ‘World in Union’ album and she sang Faith Hill’s ‘There You’ll Be’ on the Band of the H.M.Royal Marines album ‘Summon the Heroes’ due to her family connections with the forces.
• Mary-Jess won both the ‘Album of the Year’ award and the ‘Best Newcomer’ award from classical-crossover.co.uk for her debut album ‘Shine’.
• She sang to royalty in Windsor Castle with The Band of The Blues and Royals
• Mary-Jess sang ‘Don’t Cry Alone’ at Robin Gibb’s house at the garden party which followed the unveiling of his National Heritage Foundation Plaque.
• One of the highlights of Mary-Jess’ career so far was when she performed a show stopping version of ‘Abide With Me’ with The Band Of The Blues And Royals at the 2012 FA Cup Final in Wembley Stadium in front of a live audience of 90, 000 people and a Worldwide television audience of potentially 300 million!
With all this experience at only 23 years of age, the future promises to be bright for Mary-Jess.
