Born in Flushing, Queens James Data was influenced by the growing Hip Hop scene coming out of his Queens neighborhood in the early-90's
while most kids where going to after-school programs he was enrolled in the Long Island Drum center and Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music where he developed his passion for music and playing the drums. His father owned a local recording studio which helped fuel his love for drums even more when he was able to sit in on sessions with local bands and develop his craft. By 1994 James had also developed a passion for MCing going by the name Jam (Da original Troopa).He wrote and produced his first single "The Chemistry" under the group name Da Ooh for indie label Warning Records. In 1995 JAM founded 456 Records with family members and released his solo debut titled "Soul Searchin" which he also wrote and produced. His second release was The"Soul Searchin"remix with "Time" on the B-side. In the late-90's through a joint venture with Mr Eggs records Jam released "Survival Series 11355" a Compilation album which show cased his production skills and introduced several up and coming Mc's from the New York underground Hip Hop scene. Taking a brief hiatus to finish his education Jam returned changing his name to James Data and was featured on "Hello From The Gutta" (lites Out) Mix CD Vol 1 with Insomniac Dream Entertainment artists Skila and Sinnagi. Under the name James Data, Jam has started the music blog www.jamesdata.com and released the "Brown Bag Blendz" Mix Cd Series which includes Sinnagi's Mix CD "The Sinopsis". "The Double Em Up" mash up along with Brown Bag Blendz Vol4 "The Remix Edition"
