Singer Daddy Wrall came by his abilities as a frontman as the son and grandson of Congregational ministers; Samuel P. Nice (aka Sammy Bananas of Certified Bananas), handling production, had done remixes for rock bands and hip-hop artists; and instrumentalist Schuyler Dunlop had traveled the world on a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship, studying flute and other instruments. As Miss Fairchild, they delved into blue-eyed soul, starting with their first album, Album, released by Nantucketastrophe in 2004. It was followed by a 2005 EP, Housing Prodgect. They also had production credits on JedSed's Lipschitz: Jed Sed. Meanwhile, they began performing as the Miss Fairchild Show, adding Trick Johnson on bass and Todd "The Rocket" Richard on drum set for live appearances. The Miss Fairchild Mixtape, issued in May 2007, looked forward to the release of their second full-length CD, Ooh La La Sha Sha, on the Jive Sucka! label on November 13, 2007. ~ William Ruhlmann
