Italian singer Mia Martini, best known for her hits "Piccolo Uomo" and "Almeno Tu Nell'universo," which were translated into numerous other languages, was born Domenica Bertè in 1947.
Known initially as Mimì Bertè, she recorded nearly 20 studio albums over the span of her long career before suffering from cardiac arrest at the age of 47 in 1995. ~ James Christopher Monger
