In an industry where classifying music is not only out of control, but has become down right annoying, METHANOL, is pretty straight forward about their musical classification and approach.
"We're a rock band, not some f**kin' alt/post-grunge/punk/rock/hip-hop band," proclaims singer/guitarist Seth Martino. Juliya of FUSE TV's, "Let It Rock," put it best when introducing the band in Buffalo, NY, "I...'ve seen these guys before and they f**kin' rock!"
Officially located in Rochester, NY, METHANOL is hitting the streets with their brash in-your-face style of rock 'n' roll, and leaving audiences amazed! "METHANOL is a fantastic hard rock band with one foot in 80's metal and the other on the gas pedal jammed to the hard-rock floor...and no brakes," exclaims Frank de Blasé of CITY Newspaper in Rochester. About the bands first official music video for their single, "Blow Me Away," Stevie Rachelle of the famed hard rock/sleaze metal website, METAL SLUDGE, blogged: "If you like straight ahead rock n' roll - I suggest checking this out. Cool song, killer video, and what seems to be a pretty kick ass NY local band making some impact. Check 'em out."
The band enjoys weekly spins on Upstate NY commercial radio stations, The Buzz (98.9 FM), The Zone (94.1 FM) and WBER (90.5 FM). METHANOL has also had feature articles written about them in the Rochester papers, "INSIDER" and "CITY." In addition to local press, the band has shared the stage with such artists as Zach Myers of SHINEDOWN, Steven Adler of GUNS N' ROSES, Cherie Currie of THE RUNAWAYS, Gary Cherone of EXTREME, BANG TANGO, WEDNESDAY 13 and ZO2.
In Feb. 2011 they released their first full-length CD, "Cocktail For Disaster," thru iTunes to early rave reviews! "Methanol celebrated the release of its brand new "Cocktail For Disaster," and it's a non-stop kick-ass affair. You know, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club mirrored a lot of rockers' frustration a few years back with a song called "Whatever Happened To My Rock 'n' Roll?" Here it is, pal. Call off the search," writes Frank de Blasé of CITY Newspaper.
The boys continue to play shows all over the Upstate NY region, turning heads and winning over new fans one show at a time! So fuel up with some METHANOL…cause these kids are all wrong!
