Formed in 2004 after playing with various bands, Meneguar began recording their debut, I Was Born at Night, in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Bushwick that winter. A limited-edition pressing for Magic Bullet followed in May; by the year's end, Nicolas Vernhes (Silver Jews, Ted Leo, Fischerspooner) signed on to remix and remaster I Was Born at Night for Troubleman Unlimited. After an impressive performance at the annual South by Southwest conference in March, the newly minted I Was Born at Night arrived in June. ~ MacKenzie Wilson
