Hailing from Birmingham, Alabama Meghan Elliott has quickly created her own niche in music with a raw sweet poppy rock inspired sound.
Inspired by her mother and brother, as well as numerous modern artists such as Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Hayley Williams, Meghan has become one of music’s recognizable voices. Whether it’s one of her catchy self-penned singles or her own rendition of a popular tune, she continues to showcase an awe inspiring raw vocal ability.
After the release of her self-titled debut EP in 2009, Meghan’s music began to be featured across multiple formats. As well as being a guest on the Gail King Radio Show in 2011, she was a featured performer at the Red Gorilla Music Festival in Austin, Texas during 2012’s SXSW Music Festival.
Some of her popular singles, including ‘Lady Lady’ and ‘Write Me Off’ have been featured on some of cable television’s most popular shows including, E!’s ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’, MTV’s ‘The Real World’, and Showtime’s ‘The Real L Word.’ In 2011, Meghan was named Best Original Artist on Birmingham Magazine’s ‘Birmingham’s Best List.’
Learning from the moments that have defined her young life, Elliott has poured her experiences into her music. With profound lyrics and a voice full of distinct emotional expression, Elliott continues to aspire to touch the lives of listeners as she performs at venues across the southeast.
Meghan Elliott’s second EP, Heart Shaped Map, will be released in the spring of 2013. Meghan has expressed excitement about the new EP stating it is a peek into her world, who she is, what she has gone through, as she continues to mature and push her emotional boundaries through her words and music.
