Comprised of Emery members Matt Carter and Toby Morrell, this project finds the pair branching off from their main gig to explore a more elaborate acoustic and electronic sound.
The project's beginnings stem from the members tossing around the idea of writing an acoustic Emery record, but the idea was scrapped so that the songs could develop their own identity away from fans' preconceived notions of what that band should be. Matt & Toby made their album debut in 2012, with their self-titled effort arriving on Tooth & Nail in November of that year. ~ Gregory Heaney
