This is all started in College.
I was a music director for a radio station, and I started flirting with the label rep from Deep Elm records. We would stay up all night making jokes about Greg Dulli and Nada Surf. I fell in love hard, hard, hard. I was heading to NYC for CMJ in a month, and I decided to make her a mix tape. Since we were proto hipsters, I had to write a song for the mix tape. Only logical. Anyway, I did. I wrote a couple songs, and made a few more copies to pass out to a couple other friends. My buddy Justin really liked the tape, and pretty much told me to make an album, or at least that's what I wanted to hear, so I as soon as I got back home, I started using all the school's audio gear for my own purposes, and made the Dogwhistle Symphonies EP.

Before I knew it, I was out of school and trying to start a record label. Throwing all the money I didn't actually have into putting out Marvin The Robot albums. I was really into manufacturing eleborate digipacks and ETSY style artwork.

A million albums and a few small tours later, here we are. We've got two albums in the womb this year. If we're lucky, they 'll be done before Christmas.
