Marc Sylvan has forged an outstanding reputation as a composer and sound designer and is in high demand for television, commercials, film and video game projects.
His unique blend of music and sound design and great sensitivity to pictorial images have placed him in particular demand as a composer for animated graphics and title sequences.
Marc’s credits embrace a wide range of programming and his title themes feature on over one hundred sport, fashion, music, lifestyle and game shows as well as documentaries and channel idents. Recent television credits include the BAFTA / Rose d’Or award winning global phenomenon The Million Pound Drop Live (Channel 4) as well as hit shows such as Total Wipeout (BBC1), Pointless (BBC1), Catchphrase (ITV1), Britain's Brightest (BBC1), The Bank Job (Channel 4), Alesha's Street Dance Stars (BBC1), Divided (ITV1), Dara Ó Briain: School of Hard Sums (Dave), Golden Balls (ITV1), The Common Denominator (Channel 4), Face the Clock (Channel 4), Sport Relief does Glee Club (BBC1), Beat the Pack (BBC1), Tipping Point: Lucky Stars (ITV1) and 101 Ways To Leave A Game Show (BBC1).
Film and animation credits include the sci-fi short ‘Embryo’ (winner of ‘Best Sound Design’ at the Vision 2005 Festival), which led to collaborations with Beavis & Butthead animator James Dean Conklin and Shrek animator Lee Lanier. Marc’s commercial credits include adverts for Honda, Rolls Royce, The Health Lottery, Sega, The Sun, Yamaha and the Saleen S7 Supercar.
In 2004 Marc began to collaborate with award-winning video game composer Richard Jacques. The pair have since worked together on many major game releases including Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing (PS3), The Club (PS3), Virtua Tennis 2009 (Xbox 360), Hasbro Family Game Night (Wii), Eye Pet (PS3), Pursuit Force (PSP), Sega Superstars Tennis (PS2), EyeToy: Play 3 (PS2) and the cult retro platformer Explodemon (PSN).
Other areas of work include multimedia and web content. Credits include the BAFTA award winning British Heart Foundation website, the BAFTA nominated online game for The Bank Job television show, as well as online content for Adobe, Red Bull, First Direct, Endemol Gaming, Syco’s Red or Black? and Monaco super-club Amber Lounge.
