Hailing from Palma de Mallorca, Maika Makovski is a singer, songwriter, actress, and visual artist of Andalusian and Macedonian descent, who released her debut album, Kradiaw, in 2005.
Its successor, Kraj So Koferot, appeared in 2007. Makovski's dark and arty music soon made her into a sort of indie rock princess among the Spanish and European underground scene, a status cemented when John Parish (PJ Harvey, Eels) invited the singer to his Bristol studio to record her third album, 2010's Maika Makovski. Thank You for the Boots followed in 2012. ~ Mariano Prunes
