Jazz singer and guitarist Magda Hiller has won a number of awards for her music, including Best Solo Performer, Best Acoustic Performer, and Best Independent Release.
She has a strong voice and is a skilled musician. Many of her songs are jazz, but with some blues, folk, and even a little hip-hop stylings tossed in for good measure. By 2001, Hiller had two full-length albums completed, Nothing But and Delicate Cycle. Some of the tracks from these first two offerings are "Family Planning Day," "Slow Dance," "Not Consciously Baby," "Too Much," "Crackerjack," "Start Over Again," and "Mighty Big Love." Hiller spends a lot of her time touring across the United States, performing at festivals, coffeehouses, and clubs. Her music has been reviewed in a number of magazines and she has opened for many other artists, like Richard Elliott, Michelle Shocked, Bob Dylan, the Badlees, Dan Fogelberg, Huey Lewis, and Al Steward. ~ Charlotte Dillon
