Spanish group Los Marañones was formed in 1987 by friends Miguel Bañón, Ricardo Perpén, and Román García.
Joined by drummer Pedrín Sánchez, they released their debut album, Experiencia Negra (mini LP, 1989), produced by Paco Trinidad, followed by Quiero Bailar Agarrao (LP, 1992), with keyboardist Carlos Campoy joining the group. Next they released La revolución (CD, 1994), again produced by Paco Trinidad, like their next one, Los Marañones (CD, 1996), a live album released by Edel Music. With the addition of guitarist Joaquín Talismán they issued Matando el tiempo (CD, 1997) and Shangri-La (CD, 1999).

Joaquín Talismán left the group to start a solo career and they returned with El mundo al revés (CD, 2004), and with Carlos Campoy as a full time member again, they issued Extraña familia (CD, 2007), Las aventuras de Los Marañones (CD, 2008), Tipos raros (CD, 2010) and Historias sin principio ni final (CD, 2012), then they compiled their rare and unreleased tracks in Rarezas (1988-2012) (digital download, 2015). Their new album is A contratiempo (CD, 2015).
