The pioneering, two-man band -- frontman Scott Lucas covers bothguitar and bass through an extra pick up in his guitar while drummer Ryan Harding pounds out the rest of the sound -- has released seven studio albums, alive album, and a bunch of EPs. Harding joined Local H in November 2013 and fitright in. The re-vamped line-up has written several new songs, which they’vebeen testing out live to great response from the band’s incredibly loyal fans.In between stints on the road this year, they are recording a string of singles,a move that breaks away from their usual concept album approach. They arecurrently touring in support of Harding’s first recordings with the band: anode to how awful people are, called "The Misanthrope," and a heavy, rocking reinterpretation of Lorde’s“Team.”

Two-man, Chicago band Local H announced plans thisweek to record a new album at Electrical Audio and Million Yen Studios inDecember. This is the band’s first full-length record with drummer Ryan Hardingand its 8th studio album overall. Longtime Local H collaborator Andy Gerberwill produce, working at both Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio studio andGerber’s own Million Yen Studios, both in Chicago. The album will be out nextspring.

Local H has released music on various major and independent labels over thepast 24 years. This time around they are working with Pledge Music to fundtheir album and release it directly to fans. Supporters can pre-order thealbum, unlock access to exclusive behind-the-scenes updates from the studio andpurchase a bunch of other things. A portion of the money raised will benefitMusiCares, an organization that works to ensure that music people have a placeto turn in times of financial, medical or personal crisis.
