Taking a cue from the amiable rural rock of the Lumineers, Mumford & Sons, and First Aid Kit, Dublin five-piece Little Green Cars offer up an Emerald Isle take on Americana, employing generous five-part harmonies over a bed of R.E.M. Fleetwood Mac, and Woody Guthrie-inspired country-folk-pop goodness.
Formed in 2008 around the talents of Stevie Appleby, Faye O'Rourke, Adam O'Regan, Donagh Seaver O'Leary, and Dylan Lynch, the band experimented with numerous styles and wrote a mountain of material before inking a deal with Glassnote and heading into the studio with producer Markus Dravs (Arcade Fire, Björk) to record its 2013 debut album, Absolute Zero. In early 2016 the band issued a new single, "The Song They Play Every Night," in anticipation of their much anticipated sophomore studio album Ephemera, which dropped later that March. ~ James Christopher Monger
