With a classic dual-guitar attack, a crushing rhythm section, dynamic vocals and a poignant message, this band creates an undeniable presence and demands captivation from any audience.

Founded originally in 2006 by guitarist Ben Serr and drummer Andrew Czegledi, the band quickly began to gain attention and support from veterans of the local underground scene. In the summer of 2007 the band amended their roster by adding Ben’s brother, vocalist Nick Serr (Resolution15/Engine), and later brought aboard bassist Spencer Guttenberg in early 2008. The result was something that offered a fresh perspective on heavy music, yet recalled the essential elements forged by the founding fathers of metal. Appearing at some of Long Island and New York City’s biggest clubs, including Don Hills, The Knitting Factory, Metasin and The Crazy Donkey, they quickly found themselves among the ranks of acclaimed national acts such as God Forbid, Whitechapel, In This Moment, Suicide City, Emmure, Death Angel, Soilent Green, Bleeding Through, Kittie and Walls of Jericho.

In July of 2011, under the guidance of good friend and producer Corey Unger (Blood Has Been Shed), Lies Beneath released their first official full-length album “Death of the American Dream.” The record was received by the New York City metal community with open arms. It quickly began receiving accolades from fans, fellow musicians and bloggers alike, and was even on heavy rotation for over a year in the famous jukebox at Duff’s in Brooklyn, New York City’s most acclaimed metal dive bar!

In the spring of 2013, the band officially welcomed their newest member, guitarist Wayne Cornwall (Hail the Fail/Trial By Terror).

With the circle finally complete, Lies Beneath began preparing an arsenal of brand new material for 2014 that vocalist Nick Serr says: “clearly indicates a huge step forward for us, both in terms of our individual abilities and our dynamic as a band. There’s a lot of collaboration happening, which is really refreshing… and it’s heavy. Really heavy.”
