Little is known about this Mexican composer who was probably born in Spain.
The only works he was known to have composed are now contained in manuscripts in the Convento del Carmen and the Newberry Choirbooks, Chicago. Within the colonial repertoire, Lienas' compositions were superb. Musical lines were facile and sonorous giving light to lucid dispositions. Melodic parroting and counterpoint were easily contended with by Lineas. ~ Keith Johnson
