It all started in 2002, in Guadalajara, Mexico, with a poetry notebook and a $20 guitar, Alex Ayala started writing songs about love, jealousy, happiness or whatever inspired him.
He formed a band which found success in local battle of the bands and the local scene. Unfortunately, the flame ignited was not to last, family reasons brought him to California forcing him into leaving everything behind.

At a new place and no friends Alex met guitarist, friend and collaborator Jon Pritchard with whom he played in another project with. It was at an open mic in 2009 where Alex met drummer Paul Harris and bassist Saul Aguilar. The first with a steady, sharp snappy punk beat and the second with a mellow understanding for jazz and blues bass lines. The trio immediately hit it off and the band was formed including now former lead guitarist Jon.

They played a small number of shows where they managed to attract a group of devoted fans. Lezayr's debut album "Listen to the Faces" was self released in August 2nd, 2011, followed by an intense series of local shows and promotion. The album was recorded in a living room and completely self produced. The album includes 11 original tracks. Alex explains the album as "... a collection of life experiences... I think everyone has been in a similar situation at one point of their lives at least once, and I think people can relate to that..."

Lezayr is currently working on the second album "Break the Chains"
