Starting off in the early '90s as a solo artist, Neil Leyton became known throughout Toronto's and later Canada's independent music scene as lead singer of the Conscience Pilate, a glam rock band.
From 1995 to 1997, Leyton toured with the band, but contractual problems led the band to dissolve in 1997. Since that time, Leyton has been quite busy with other projects, including his own Fading Ways label. The label has offices in Canada and in Europe and is home to such acts as Plasma Blast, the Pariahs, and the Sin-Tones. In 2000, Leyton released My New Soul, an album of new material and some cover songs. He has also appeared in several industry showcases in Canada and internationally. ~ Jason MacNeil
