Cathrine Legardh (b.
1973) born in Denmark out of Danish / Norwegian / Swedish parents. She was educated to be a music teacher, but left her day job in 2006 to go for a professional singing career; studied independently in the UK (Fionna Duncan e.g.) and New York (Sheila Jordan, Jay Clayton e.g.). She performs in Denmark and abroad - Scandinavia, UK, USA, Iceland, Thailand and also China, where she represented Denmark at the World Expo in Shanghai.

Legardh sings jazz standards - mainstream, cool and bebop - along with a selection of old Nordic tunes as well as her own compositions. She also composes and performs jazz for kids in the ensemble ‘NullerNix’ and launched two CDs and a book in relation to this. Legardh is signed to Storyville Records, who provides a worldwide distribution of her CDs.

Her third album ‘Land & Sky’ (original music co-written with the Icelandic alto player, Sigurdur Flosason) reached the Top 10 of Danish Jazz Releases in 2011, and was furthermore nominated ‘Vocal Jazz Album of the Year’ at the Danish Music Awards as well as ‘Jazz Album of the Year’ at the Icelandic Music Awards in 2011.

In April 2013 a NEW ALBUM will be launched, titled ‘Love Still Wears A Smile’. It is a duo recording with the Scottish pianist, Brian Kellock – consisting of a handful of carefully selected jazz standards.
