(The following biography was written with the help of Alan Wass one month before he died for the third and final time).
On February 20, 2015, guitarist Alan Wass fell through a stained-glass window and severed his right arm. Three blood transfusions, a helicopter ride and nine hours in surgery later he was pronounced alive- only just. Rather than descend into insanity and painkiller addiction, Alan decided to start a new life with one hand and a new band: The Tourniquet, dedicated to the belt that saved his life. Music, it seemed, was still in his blood.

Sounding like Ronnie Kray and Clint Eastwood playing all the hits of Johnny Cash, The Tourniquet is a band about lust, life and making the most of the time you have. Because you never know when you might fall through the looking glass and never come back.

The Tourniquet has released debut single 'Hired Gun'/'Golden Heartaches' with fellow nine-lifer Pete Doherty, in advance of their debut album, Alan Wass and The Tourniquet.
